WRITER INTRODUCTION 
Bedi's literary career began in 1932. Initially, he wrote poems and fiction in English and Urdu under the name Mohsin Lahori, which were published in university magazines and local newspapers. Rajinder Singh Bedi's first fiction "Dukh Sukh" in Persian script was published in Punjabi language magazine "Sarang". He is the best fiction writer of his generation. In his artworks, a world of meaning has been created from the various characters of the middle class, their colorful surroundings, the ups and downs of human relationships between them. The portrayal of the character and temperament of middle and lower middle class Indian women in Bedi's fiction and novels is said to be the high point of his fiction writing. The novel under discussion "Ek Chadar Meli Si" is the only novel by Rajendra Singh Bedi which is written in the context of rural Punjab life. This novel was first published in 1962 by Maktaba Jamia Delhi. In this novel, Rajendra Singh Bedi has worked with cryptography and it is the shortest Urdu novel consisting of only 150 pages. The novel Ek Chadar Meli Si was commented on by Sham Lal in the Times of India, translated by Khair Nisa Begum, which was published in "Sugaat" magazine in 1963. Rajendra Singh Bedi was also awarded the Sahitya Academy Award in 1965 for his Best performance in this novel. Bedi has worked realistically in his novel Ek Chadar Maili Si. Due to which the cultural and cultural situation of the peoples of Punjab arises which also affects the mind of the reader. "Ek Chadar Meli Si" is the first and last novel by Rajinder Singh Bedi. This novel describes the backward society of the Punjab villages and the economic conditions of the Sikh family. The entire novel revolves around Rano, the wife of a Tange Wale village of Kotla in Punjab.

He's watching everything from the quarterfinal fights to the indecency, and the outings to the catchphrases and flash plays, but no one is watching, everyone is engrossed in his work.

Taluka is a boring person, he not only drinks alcohol, which Rani hates, but also sneaks and cheats on girls who have lost their way home and sits next to Mehrban Das and his brother Ghansham Das. He sells it for a bottle of wine and a penny. Rani and Taluka have three children, a girl named Badi, twin boys named Sante and Bante. Rani and Taluka fight every day, one day Taluka chases a 14 year old girl from Jatras and returns home with a bottle of wine and a frying pan. The wine bottle broke but the next morning a new bottle was in Taluka's hand, he left the house threatening to drink wine tonight. That night he did not come into Taluka's life, the Jatra boy to avenge his sister, he bit his teeth on Taluka's neck and sucked out all the blood and Chaudhary Mehrban Das and Ghansham Das were caught by the police, they were jailed for seven years. .
