PLOT AND SUMMARY OF THE NOVEL MIRAT UL UROOS

The novel under review Mirat-ul-Arus is a novel in which the author wants to educate women. He has described various situations and events and the solutions to the problems that occur in these situations so beautifully that the reader is stunned. There are several chapters in the novel, in which the first chapter is "Introduction to the need of women to read and write and some advice suitable to their condition". In this chapter, the author has not only described the importance of women's education and training, but apart from comparing ignorant and educated women,
he has urged women to stay behind the veil and get education as if they were sitting in front of them. Everyone is saying. The introduction of the characters of the novel is in the second chapter "The beginning of the story and the brief circumstances of the people described in this story". Jahan Akbari is the first daughter of her parents and is spoiled by her grandmother's foolish pampering. There, his third child becomes familiar with every skill by bridging the barrier of Asghari elders. The relationship between the two is determined by two brothers in the same family.
Akbari gets married to her elder brother Mohammad Aqil while Asghari gets engaged to her younger brother Mohammad Kamil. From the third chapter to the eighth chapter, the author sheds light on Akbari's marriage and post-marriage problems. Akbari's talk could not be settled anywhere due to his bad temper, but Akbari's father prepared the relationship of his two daughters with the two sons of his friend Muhammad Fazil. After a few months of marriage, Akbari decided to live separately from her husband and when Muhammad Aqil asked the reason, she said; What do you want? I have no tolerance for anyone to come and sit. I know their theory.
God has created the ascendant. But today they defamed Chania, Zulfan, Rahmat and Salmati face to face." Muhammad Aqil started explaining to her that all of them are poor. Come on, being poor is not a fault, but all these habits are not good either. On this Akbari was so upset that she went to her house. When Akbari's aunt brought her back, on the day of Eid she got angry again and went to her mother's house. When Muhammad Aqil returned from Eidgah, his mother sent him to his in-laws where he had a discussion about getting a separate house from his mother-in-law.
Asghari served his brother-in-law and was greatly impressed by Muhammad Aqil Asghari. After coming home, Muhammad Aqil consulted his mother and some friends and thus Muhammad Aqil and Akbari shifted to separate houses. Akbari went to a separate house, but because of her mismanagement, she ruined everything. Food came from outside every day. One day, leaving Akbari's house open, Sogai and thieves looted the entire house.
Muhammad Aqil's mother and mother-in-law sent some goods from their house to make up for their loss, but then Akbari lost all his jewels to a woman. After all this, Akbari's mother-in-law wanted to marry her younger son Muhammad Kamil somewhere else, but Muhammad Aqil admired Asghari so much that Muhammad Kamil and Asghari got married. During Asghari's marriage, her father did not get leave from the remote area, but he also sent his son away with all the responsibility and sent a letter to Asghari, in which he informed her about the conditions of living in the in-laws' house. Asghari started taking interest in the activities there as soon as she went to her in-laws house and started teaching her Nand Mahmuda as well.
As Asghari started to take interest in the work in the house, she saw that the system of the house was in the hands of the maternal uncle of the house and every day the household items and ration also disappeared. As soon as Asghari started taking the management of the house in her own hands, things started coming out of Mama Azmat's hands and she started stabbing Asghari one after another. They started suspecting Muhammad Kamil and his mother with Asghari. When Asghari came to know all the situation through Mahmuda's words, she wrote a letter to her elder brother and asked him to advise me what to do and to bring my father-in-law from another city while returning from his job.
In such a situation, Mama Azmat informed Asghari's mother-in-law about the auction of the house, but Asghari calmed down her mother-in-law with her wisdom at the same time and made a home in her heart again. Asghari's mother-in-law was worried due to lack of money and now Shab-e-Barat was coming and she thought that now Mahmoodah and Muhammad Kamil would need money to set off firecrackers. When Asghari came to know about this from her mother-in-law,
she told her about the harm of bursting firecrackers in front of her husband and her mother-in-law's distress. Finally, Mahmuda and Muhammad Kamil gave up the intention of bursting firecrackers and Asghari's place in the mother-in-law's heart increased a little more. As the night passed, Asghari's father brought Asghari's father-in-law to the city. When the father-in-law was to come, Asghari called all the borrowers and made an account, where Mama Azmat's tricks were exposed to everyone and Muhammad Fazil dismissed them from work. AsghariA new midwife was hired on Asghari's advice and her salary was fixed only on Asghari's advice.
Asghari's mother-in-law had a discussion about the household expenses, then Asghari supported the father-in-law and explained to the mother-in-law and took the household expenses in her hands. Asghari also attracted her husband to study and she herself set up a school for girls. In fact, something happened that Hasan Araya, who was very rude, lived in Asghari's Mekewale neighborhood and Hasan Araya lived in Asghari's in-laws' neighborhood. When the aunt came to Hasan Aara's house, she advised her mother to teach her to Asghari. Asghari did not come to the job but Hasan Aaraa started being sent to her house and thus many girls started coming to Asghari from morning till late evening. Asghari started teaching the girls in a good way and one day on the complaint of the girl's mother, she also enrolled them in her school.
Asghari persuades her husband to take a job and then persuades him to move to another city. Muhammad Kamil gets promoted and initially sends money and letters regularly, but after some time Muhammad Kamil's letters start to lag and alarm bells start ringing around Asghari. Asghari gives Muhammad Aqil and Mahmuda the responsibility of the school and asks Akbari to return with her mother-in-law.
Akbari gets tired of being alone so she comes back. Asghari goes to her husband and brings him back to the right path, returning after some time to her father-in-law and asks him to take a pension and rest now and to appoint Muhammad Aqil in his place. Gives advice. Asghari comes back and consults her mother-in-law about Mahmoodah's relationship with Hasan Araya's brother. She says that the boys are so rich, but because of Asghari, Hasan Aara's mother says yes and Mahmuda's engagement is fixed. There is an issue of dowry for the marriage, so Asghari advises her father-in-law to go to her Seth and invite him, he will surely give her the money.
Thus Asghari has his own deposit and Muhammad Kamil also sends money. Mahmuda gets married and gets an excellent dowry. Mahmuda's father-in-law keeps an eye on her for some time and believing her abilities, he names his property as Mahmuda and her husband and goes to Makkah Sharif. Asghari had children here, but she died. On the death of one of Asghari's daughters, her father writes to her and advises her to be patient. In the end,
Asghari is left with a son whose marriage is arranged with Mahmuda's daughter and thus Asghari lives a perfect life with her understanding. Thus, in this first Urdu novel, the author has given important advice to women about living through two sisters.
